Growing Garlic Bulbils – part 14 (14-May-2023) – Transplant from the shade. Will they survive?

This is the new planting site. I dug a small hole, put some potting soil in and watered lightly.
Bulbils to be transplanted. The soil was tougher than I expected (maybe I should have watered to loosen but there were also a lot of roots from other plants what probably would have still caused some issues).
Top left you can see a larger bulbil. For future growing I might gear these plantings towards larger sizes to start, but I’ll have to see how that plays out at the end of the year.
Done planting and soaked with water.
A day later as of 15-May-2023, these are looking sad and likely that some did not survive the transplant. It’s tough to see from this angle but there are some that are perking up and I’m hopeful that overall the transplant will be beneficial.
